The company that publishes Singapores largest English daily, Singapore Press Holdings, said it would start a second newspaper in September to take on new rivals as its industry monopoly ends. Singapore Press Holdings, which publishes The Straits Times and nine other newspapers in four languages, said the proposed paper would be called Streets. The company also plans to start another daily, called Project Eyeball, aimed at young professionals. Singapore said it would give the government-owned broadcaster, the Media Corporation of Singapore, a newspaper license for a free paper with a circulation of 200,000 to be distributed on public transportation..
