How does the web browser work on Nexus 4?

I just got a Nexus 4...I had an HTC desire for 3 years previously.
Im confused how to use Chrome. Every time I open it and press on the web address bar, it only gives me the option to type out the addresses.
That cant be right! Ive already visited my usual websites so it must have a history of them. Why cant I just access a drop menu with previous websites and select one?

What web browser would allow me to do this? Or have shortcut buttons pop up like the Sense browser for HTC?

Is the Google Nexus 4 a good Android Cell Phone?

I have never owned a cell yet and I am planning on buying my first. Is Nexus 4 any good?

This is the top 3 ranking in the market. So if Price is not a big issue then I would prefer you to Buy the Samsung Galaxy S4 because the Features nd Performance is Unbelievable :) But if you want to buy the Nexus 4 go for it, its also a very good phone. How can I upgrade my Nexus 4 to Jellybean 4.3 when it comes out?

I just ordered a Nexus 4 and now there are reports of a new Nexus 4 being spotted with the, as yet unannounced, Jellybean 4.3. I was wondering if anyone knew if and how I would be able to upgrade my OS to this new version when it does finally come out.

Question for those who already have the Google Nexus 4 smartphone?

Im interested in the nexus 4. One of the things I use my smartphone for is Media playback. I know that the nexus 4 has on-screen buttons which reduce the effective screen area to about 4.3 inches(I really hate this). I wanna know if those on-screen buttons disappear while video playback while using a THIRD-PARTY media player such as Dice player or VLC player.

Answer: I just downloaded Dice player on my galaxy nexus (same on screen buttons and same software as the nexus 4) and yes, the buttons hide when playing video.

MX player also works this way.

Youtube also does this

stock video player works this way as well.

VLC was a PITA to setup for me so i didn't try it out...but if they have any coding ability, i would assume it would work the same way.

Should I purchase the Samsung Galaxy S3 or the Google Nexus 4?

I have truly fallen in love with the Nexus 4 and this would be the phone I would but if price wasnt a factor.. My options are to pay $200 for the Galaxy S3 with a new two year contract, or purchase the Nexus 4 for $350 without a contract. I plan on having the same carrier either way. I just cannot decide which phone I would like to purchase. I currently have $300 saved up and will shortly have enough to buy the Nexus 4.

Answer: Definitely Nexus 4! I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, SWEET phone and it does have pros like huge battery and stuff, however I like my Nexus 4 better for a number of reasons. One of the biggest differences would be that you are limited to what you can do with the S3. The Nexus 4 is unlocked, no contract, no bloatware, AND the NFC works great. NFC works good on my Note 2 but GOOGLE WALLET does not work on it, and I have heard that it does not work on the S3 either.

Answer: It has an ok battery life. If you are a regular smartphone user, it should get you by the day. However if you are a power user then the nexus 4 will definitely die on you half way through the day. It is true that the phone heats on the back after a while but only if you are using mobile internet.

I was planning to buy a nexus 4 online, it says the phone is unlocked. Does this mean it can work on verizons service? Im confused as to what unlocked means, and if it can work on verizon, how do i activate it?

Is the nexus 4 as good of a phone as the nexus 7 a tablet?

I have had my Nexus 7 for a few months now and it is my very favorite device, even better than my computer.

For a phone however, I have the small, old, slow Samsung Dart, and severely need to upgrade.

Because I am so satisfied with the Nexus 7, I believe that I will be just as happy with the Nexus 4, but I wasnt sure about that...

So... Is the Nexus 4 as good at being a phone, as the Nexus 7 is at being a tablet?

Things I want:

To be able to play most every app on the market with little to no lag.
Be able to root the phone and install things like Cyanogen Mod.

Also, could I use it with the walmart cell phone service, because that is what my family uses.

Why is the Nexus 4 so expensive from a carrier?

I have bought my Nexus 4 from Google. The price is about £240 (£250 if youre including delivery charges). I looked around and noticed that O2 was selling it on Pay as you Go for around £400. Whats up with that? Are they being greedy and trying to con people who wont purchase things over the Internet? I really dont get it and I cant see any justification for doubling the price. Im just curious to find out, if you have a theory or explanation.

Answer: The only logical answer would be to explain Google's marketing model. A week before the Nexus 4 was released, leaked images showed that more than a few electronics warehouses where not going to be selling the Nexus 4 because LG would sell it for I think 299.99 on wholesale, which is the same price Google is selling it for. That would be ridiculous right? Well, word is that Google is and will continue to sell devices at extremely low prices(break even point/at a loss) to get people to use them and get completely sucked into Google's Operating System, Cloud services and Google Play. So now that we cleared that out of the way, it is pretty deductible that carriers are charging that much because they would not obtain any profit from the phone and since you would plan on not getting a contract there is even more of a risk for them because you could just take it to another carrier or sell it and the profit goes to you. Another obvious simple reason is Economics, Supply and Demand.
