I have oily hair; would using coconut milk shampoo and conditioner make it better or worse?
My hair is long, thick, slightly wavy, and slightly oily. I was planning on using these shampoo and conditioner recipes, but would it make my hair more oily?

If you've watched the Miss Universe months ago, SEVERAL OF THE WOMEN there, have greasy hair, and they have used CHI products to curl all their VERY LONG HAIR, with professional hairstylist standing by, to do touch ups. There are no touch-ups, when you do your own hair, and you're going outside in the wind, rain, etc. . . . that flattens and pollute the hair even more. Another reason, why the hair industry is a trillion dollar business. Nicole Kidman, too, during the SAG Award, her hair is greasy & thinNER 1-27-13. Google her when she did the movie with Tom Cruise, Days of Thunder 1990.
Causes for greasy hair:
You're using the wrong shampoo. Many are formulated for damaged, curly hair or fine hair. I'd take them back. One hotel sample shampoo I have, made my hair greasy by the 2nd day, and I started itching, they normally sell for $15. JLo's New Loreal Commercial? Her hair is greasy & flat there!
You're having conditioner buildup. Many don't even need conditioner. I don't, haven't used it for over 16 years.
You're using oil on your hair, to protect your hair from straightening/curling tools.
You're eating too many oily foods.
You're shampooing frequently.
You're using too many hair products: gel, mousse, you're not letting your hair breath. Too much product can limit natural hair movement, clump hair together, weigh it down and make it look greasy and thin.
You're going to bed with damp hair.
Your liquid make up or moisturizer can evaporate and touches your hair. Rinse your face well before going to bed.
“Very hot water is harmful for your scalp — even more than it is for your hair,” says Nina Lotia of Toni&Guy Karachi feels water should be warm and not too hot. “It helps providing a healthy pH balance; hot water, on the other hand, makes your scalp oily,” she says.
After shampooing, use two towels (long hair) to absorb most of the water from your hair. Blow-dry only for 5 mins. concentrate on the roots, before going to bed, if you're shampooing before bed.
Find the cause then eliminate them.
I DID AN EXPERIMENTATION, and this was for one day: I used the same shampoo. Since I was in a hurry, I only blow dried my hair just the roots, leaving half of my hair not dried. So, I put it up in a bun. Eight hours later, I decided to take the bun out, and my hair was still damped, stringy, greasy! I tried blow-drying it, but it didn't get dried, there's no way to get them dried, and I used my blow-dryer. I even stood by the air fan, since it was hot, and my hair didn't go back to normal, but the roots of my hair was as silky, soft, smooth like always. The following day, my hair was as greasy, but the roots remained normal. WHY? Because the shampoo ingredients, and not getting them 95% dried, tampered the hair. Good way if you have frizzy hair, but not to my normal hair.

How should I do my hair?
I dont like having my hair down AT ALL, and all I do is put my hair in a ponytail and I personally think its getting old. I want a new pretty, fast, and easy way to do my hair but without having my hair down. Got any suggestions??
Answer: My hair is down to my knees, and if I keep them down, I'd look like I'm 13. I get you! I put my hair up quite often, so I'd look more mature, because I am, almost 60. . . . . but I can style my hair 7 different ways a week, takes 2-10 mins. I've posted 60 in 25 months. 98 photos on Facebook since 2000.

He started by rough-drying the models' hair with mousse before pinning it into an updo that was "not really a twist, not really a knot, just exactly how a Sicilian woman would pin her hair up," he said. HOW I STYLED MY HAIR IN HS with past the shoulder length to long hair?
My hair cut was below my boobs, until I grad. from HS it went down to my waist. I have various styles for my hair, didn't have bangs then.
1. I parted them in the middle, had two baby pony tails right where the top of my ears, and they fall to the front, while the rest of my hair hang loose on the back. I also curled the ends under, using plastic curlers (when I go to sleep).
2. Other times, I braided my hair after they're washed, so they're curly for days! I have about 6 sections that was braided so the curls are tighter. In the morning, when I take the braids out, finger comb so they don't get frizzy.
3. Do the Pocahantas bun. Divide your hair vertically in 2. Coil the top section, using bobby pins. Let the other bottom half loose.
4. Add hairsticks to your bun, instead.
5. Coil the top, coil the bottom section.
6. Braid the top coil, bun it. Let the rest fall out.
7. Add hair sticks to the braided bun.

Where can I watch the Miss Universe 2013 live? NBC is not airing it live?
They say that the Miss Universe 2013 is not gonna be airing it live on NBC television channel. The pageant will take place on Saturday, November 9th, at 10:00 PM Moscow time and at 1:00 PM U.S.A. time, but its gonna air on U.S.A. television on NBC at 10:00 PM at NIGHT! By that time, people are going to know already the winner through Facebook and Twitter. Thats no fun. They say that only one Moscow signal will take place and be re transmitted on U.S.A. audience later in the night. But TNT Latin America channel is gonna transmit it live at 1:00 PM when the pageant really starts. How come the Dominican Republic and other Latin countries in America can see it live on television and we here in U.S.A. cant!? TNT is an U.S.A. television station for petes sake! Its our pageant anyway, Donald Trumps idea! Why isnt NBC airing it live? Whats the deal? Dont they loose viewers anyway? Where we can see Miss Universe 2013 live in the U.S.A.? How do you feel about Miss Universe being held in Dubai or Abu Dhabi? Would this be accepted there?
I acknowledge Dubai and Abu Dhabi are leaning to "The West" but would holding a beauty pageant of this magnitude cause backlash from neighboring countries or even the citizens itself? Please share your thoughts and back them up. I am doing this for research purposes. I am not promoting or mocking it being held in one of those two countries. Thank you so much for your time.
I know they are both world class but I want opinions on things like 1.) Its still an "American" pageant, would this only fuel protest and Islamic angst toward The West? I know Dubai and AD are not in uproar but would this cause neighboring countries unrest because while they are busy fighting dictatorship and struggling Dubai/AD is hosting a beauty pageant. 2.) Everything in the Arabic society, medicine, travel, education, communication, etc. in some form or another is western. It is virtually impossible to avoid the prevailing western culture while at the same time keeping with a traditional value system. From a religion that expects women to maintain a virtuous lifestyle, wearing swimsuits or dresses in public is disrespectful and harmful to a womans body. I feel beauty pageants could be a powerful communication tool that Islam and the Arab world should embrace. They could even possibly change the way we, "The West", look at Arabic people and the Muslim religion. But, when you look at the big picture and all the unrest in the Middle East do you still think it is a good idea despite how west UAE is? Neither country has even had a national level beauty contest. I always thought despite bikinis being permitted in hotels, UAE is still somewhat traditional in it mindset. I would like opinions of all angles. Thanks!

How do I kept my hair from getting so oily?
I have a really bad problem with hair oil. It gets oily so fast, its ridiculous! Well, i dye my hair ( Red, blue, colors like that) and i have to use cold water to make sure the color doesnt wash out too much. I know that the cold water is part of the problem because its not getting all the oils out. But there has got to be something else i can do! Please help. Is there anything else i can do??(Nothing expensive please)

There are no touch-ups, when you do your own hair, and you're going outside in the wind, rain, etc. . . . that flattens and pollute the hair even more. Causes for greasy hair:

You're having conditioner buildup. Many don't even need conditioner. I don't, haven't used it for over 16 years.
You're using oil on your hair, to protect your hair from straightening/curling tools.
You're eating too many oily foods.
You're shampooing frequently.
You're using too many hair products: gel, mousse, you're not letting your hair breath. Too much product can limit natural hair movement, clump hair together, weigh it down and make it look greasy and thin.
You're going to bed with damp hair.
Your liquid make up or moisturizer can evaporate and touches your hair. Rinse your face well before going to bed.

I even stood by the air fan, since it was hot, and my hair didn't go back to normal, but the roots of my hair was as silky, soft, smooth like always. The following day, my hair was as greasy, but the roots remained normal. WHY? Because the shampoo ingredients, and not getting them 95% dried, tampered the hair. Good way if you have frizzy hair, but not to my normal hair.

I am doing a project about how to do braids/about braids. It is to teach people different types of braids and how to do them. Do you have any ideas for a website on braids?
Answer: Do you know which movie was top grossing films in 2012? Hunger Games, that's right! Jennifer Lawrence won the Golden Globe beating Meryl Streep! Do you like the movie the Hunger Games? I haven't seen it, but I saw it briefly during their trailer. My hairstyle (for weeks) came from the movie, and have seen them last week during Dancing with the Stars. Dayana Mendoza the Miss Universe, recently on the Apprentice had that same hairstyle, & recently Florence Welch wore her hair during the Met Gala. Google her. Took about 10 mins. to do, use bobby pins to secure the braids to your head. Magazines called that the Goddess look or the Halo crown. Kelly Osborne wore it during Fashion Police 10-8-12. And Kourtney Kardashian showed off this sleek braid headband while visiting The Late Show With David Letterman 1-18-13. Julianne Hough looked stunning in this braided updo at a gala 1-12-13.

Perhaps the most influential trendsetter, however, is "The Hunger Games'" fictional heroine Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, who wears her hair in an intricate side braid throughout the film that was a huge springtime hit.
About a half-dozen dedicated stylists do between 40 and 50 braids a week at John Barrett Salon in New York. The salon opened its braid bar in June 2011 and offers a menu with nine braids. At first stylists at John Barrett thought the braid was just a fleeting trend or easy summer style, but then it blew up, salon spokeswoman Jenna Goldate said.
"Now we're really seeing it everywhere," Goldate said. "Everybody started to wear braids in more modern and different ways. It's not your traditional braid. It's a modern take on it."

How to keep my hair from not being greasy looking?
I have really greasy hair naturally I guess, I take a shower every morning before school, I cant go a day without washing it, actually..
If it makes a difference, I use Mane and Tail shampoo, Tresémme color protectence conditioner, Aussie Hair Insurance leave in conditioner, and Aussie 3 minuet Miracle.
My hair is dyed black so the baby powder tip wont work, or the baking soda. Is there anything else?

A question for anyone who knows about Miss Israel?
I recently read that Miss Israel 2013 Yityish Aywna pulled out of the Miss World contest because the host country Indonesia does not recongize Israels right to exist,and that she will instead compete in the Miss Universe pagent instead? Does anyone know if this is true?
I am personally glad she will be competing in Miss.Universe instead as I think she has a much better chance of getting into the finals or maybe even winning. She is a very beautiful girl I wish her nothing but the best.
