What is the controversial story about LeBron that Bill Simmons refuses discussing in his last 2 podcasts?
it seems Simmons recent podcast guests imply LeBron purposely quit during the Celtics series and that Worldwide Wes perhaps encouraged him to do so to possibly have a reason for leaving Cleveland?
is that the story that Simmons refuses to talk about for fear of being suspended by ESPN?
Answer: Simmons is protecting his ass so as to not mitigate a player who, btw, never would have confided in him or his so called mates anyway?
For a web-dude who is, in the great scheme of things, a nobody?
So, let me get this right. Bron has a tanking failure on his resume, thereby encouraging other teams to trade for him?
Please.

Right now, Im reading the book "Now I Can Die in Peace" by Bill Simmons. Im not quite done with it, but so far, its great!
Just wondering what other baseball fans are reading. :)
Tiger Nation- I read Summer of 49 back in January and its definitely one of my favorite baseball books. :)
Answer: The Babe & Me by Dan Guttman
It's all about this boy and his father who find a baseball card from 1932 and travel back in time to Chicago in october 1932, to find out whether Babe Ruth actually called his shot.
It's a classic.\
Robert, I love the kid who only hit homers. It's one of my favorites! God bless Matt Christopher.

What should the Manning to Tyree heave be called?
Bill Simmons refered to this play as the "miracle play to be named later." So, what do you call it?
The problem that I have been having is that it was such an increadible play on both ends, and most name tend to emphasize one part (The catch 2, etc.) or the other (The great escape, etc.). So, what can you come up with that covers both parts of the play?
Answer: The Prestige!
Quoting the Christopher Nolan's movie with the same name and Michael Caine's (Cutter) first dialogue:
Every great magic trick consists of three acts. The first act is called “The Pledge”; The magician shows you something ordinary, but of course… it probably isn’t. The second act is called “The Turn”; The magician makes his ordinary some thing do something extraordinary. Now if you’re looking for the secret… you won’t find it, that’s why there’s a third act called, “The Prestige”; this is the part with the twists and turns, where lives hang in the balance, and you see something shocking you’ve never seen before.
This is what this play was, a damn awesome magic trick!

How was Bill Simmons comment to Magic an "AIDS joke"?
Magic was talking about how he used to get groin shots and bill Simmons said "that didnt work out too well for ur groin"
My friend insists that it has something to do with the needle but I dont think it does. I think it has more to do just with the general idea that he was talking about his groin and Simmons was playing off the fact that he eventually contracted AIDS, he wasnt insinuating that the needle used for the shots gave it to him wat do u guys think
Thanks
Answer: It's not an aids/hiv joke it's just modern media trying to stir up shit like they always do. He made a joke about Magic's groin he never said anything about his disease.

How can I tell how diffucult a book is?
My english teacher is assigning us to pick a book to read, but insists it must be "senior" level reading. I really want to read Papillon by Henri Charriere or The Book of Basketball by Bill Simmons, but I dont know what level these would be.
Answer: I read Papillon around 20 years ago and I found it to be a very easy read. I read the book in three days (I was an avid reader back then) but I don't think you will have a problem. Another great pick is The Three musketeers and Les Miserables (this one is good also just a little more difficult). I think if you get into a book whether it is a classic or a modern novel then it won't be considered to be difficult

A HISTORY OF NEGLECT; City Is Slow to Limit Damage As a Hope for Children Fails
Taken as a young child from her drug-abusing mother, the girl had lived in one foster home after another. Now, at 16, she saw the day approaching when she would become an adult and be sent off to make a life on her own. She desperately wanted to be ready, and one last bit of help seemed to be at hand. New York City had paid her foster care agency, - Second article in series A History of Neglect, on struggles of minority-run foster care agencies in New York City, examines collapse of one agency and shortage of oversight and action throughout system; city paid sprawling organization called Miracle Makers hundreds of thousands of dollars each year for vast range of assistance, but examination shows that many of their goals went unfulfilled as agency collapsed under its own mismanagement, wasting money and failing to provide services; city child welfare officials who recruited Miracle Makers into foster care system financed its growth but failed to notice or to confront its flaws, even with repeated warnings from state and city officials, auditors, judges and children; agency emerged in late 1980s as part of effort to put black and Latino foster children in hands of agencies run by minorities; there has never been full public accounting of what went wrong at Miracle Makers, but The Timess examination found that money was poured into programs that existed chiefly on paper; workers and money were improperly shuffled from one contract to shore up another; its board was kept in dark by agency executives; clear evidence of dysfunction was apparent in 2001, but city let it continue for almost four more years, funneling money to it even as its evaluations remained dismal and children suffered; photos; timeline (L) - By BENJAMIN WEISER
Will hasnt Bill Simmons had more podcast on baseball this season?
Bill Simmons has the most popular podcast on ESPN. He barely talked about baseball this season (he did much more in the past).
I think he has spent more time talking about stupid stuff like reality TV shows than baseball and his beloved Red Sox.
Answer: Basketball's his first love.

What do these basketball stat numbers mean?
In Bill Simmons book, The Book of Basketball, he frequently lists players with with 3 numbers next to their name (i.e. Bird for the series: 27-13-5; Doc for the series: 20-6-4). I was wondering what the numbers mean.
Answer: Points-Rebounds-Assists. Those are the numbers they averaged for the series.

How will the black sheep in the Boston sports family, the Boston Bruins, do this season?
I legitimately feel sorry for them, I mean you have the three other teams in the city winning championships (or coming close: 18 and one baby!) and you suck year, after year, after year. I bet a lot of people are taking the Bill Simmons rout or the rout my friend took and abandoning the Bruins.
How do you see this black sheep team doing?
Answer: They still have plenty of fans.
A club with the history that the Bruins have will not easily be dumped aside by the fans just because other sports teams in the town win championships.
At any rate, I would expect an even better season this year, as Bergy will be returning from his injury, and I believe Mike Ryder will return to his better-scoring ways, since he's been successful under Claude Julien before.
I see the Northeast division being tight, with the Bruins making the playoffs for sure, and not an eighth seed, either.

Who is the worst sport reporter?
Bill Simmons. this guy is the most bias reporter out there. he thinks boston is the best at everything and there no arguing with him cause hes a punk. how the hell does he get on PTI? hes garbage. I know Dan Lebetard is a dumb-azz but at-least hes not bias like simmons smug prick azz.
Answer: Bill Simmons is an absolute joke. I hate the dude and he thinks he's such a big shot, that he can afford to make mistakes. (See: Kelly Dwyer slams Bill Simmons.)

What EPL team should I adopt as an American?
Definently not Chelsea or Man U, and not Tottenham because of Bill Simmons and my friend is also a Tottenham supporter. I play a lot of Fifa 11 and my favorite teams are Man City and Arsenal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Answer: out of man cty and arsenal, arsenal, being a liverpool supporter id rather that, but out of them two arsenal are a lot more respectable, they are a top club with a good manager, they play brilliant football and have started to cut out the cheating that used to happen, they have more of a history than city, but not that much, and they did have arguably the best premier league team since 1991, when they done the " invincibles" in 2003-04. city however are just buying success, their fans have no idea what they are doing when it comes to their opinions and all football fans can see their ignorance, City will never be a big team.
