METS NOTEBOOK; Mets Counting On DiFelice Behind the Plate
Judging by the ice pack and wrap encircling catcher Ramón Castros midsection, it was reasonable to surmise that the Mets were praying that Mike DiFelice would make it through Tuesday nights game intact. Castro received a cortisone injection in his lower back Monday to soothe an onset of arthritis that sidelined him Sunday, the same day that Paul - By BEN SHPIGEL
Does anyone know anything about the semi pro football team.?
My boyfriend currently told me he got signed for the semi profootball team Im having trouble believing this, he is currently not in school. I thought you had to be enrolled in some type of college or something. He said he just got a signing bonus of ten thousand dollars and a two hundred fifty thousand dollar contract
for a year with the practice squad. I am totally green when it comes to this. Do they pay players for the practice squad. What website would I go to, to find out about semi pro football players. He is supposedly playing for the dallas cowboys. He is like real skinny and I was wondering why in the hell would they sign someone like him. I love him to death but I just cant get myself to beleive this.
Answer: 1. if you give us a name, we can validate it real quick
2. They dont sign players to the practice squad this time of year. Players are placed on the practice squad after traininng camp ends in August/September
3. The Cowboys roster at the end of last season
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/dal/roster
4. Did you get a nice present as a result of his signing bonus?
2005 Pracitce Squad
The Dallas Cowboys signed wide receivers Tom Crowder, J.R. Tolver and Jamaica Rector, guards Shannon Snell and Matthew Tarullo and running back Keylon Kincade for 2006.
The six players, who were all on the practice squad at the end of the regular season, are now on the active roster.
Dallas also has rookie DE Vontrell Jamison, who was added to the active roster before Sunday's game against St. Louis.
2006 Practice squad
More Shuffling
The Cowboys have been rather busy with their practice squad during the last week, making three more moves again Tuesday.
After cutting kicker Shaun Suisham from the active roster last Friday and bringing him back to the practice squad on Saturday, the Cowboys have now released Suisham again from the practice squad.
The Cowboys added wide receiver Jamaica Rector, who cleared waivers after being released from the 53-man roster last Friday, and guard/center Matt Tarullo, who spent the last two training camps with the club and was on the Cowboys' practice squad all last season.
The Cowboys also signed tight end Jason Randall, who played in NFL Europe this past summer with Berlin (17 catches, 203 yards, 2 TDs) after spending all of last season on Detroit's practice squad. Randall went to training camp with the Falcons this past summer but was released before the start of the season.
Two spots on the practice squad were opened up last weekend after the Cowboys signed running back/return specialist Skyler Green and tight end Tony Curtis to the 53-man roster for Sunday's game. Both players made their NFL debuts against the Texans.
The Cowboys also lost guard D'Anthony Batiste from the practice squad after he signed with the Carolina Panthers over the weekend.
The current practice squad now consists of Rector, Tarullo, Randall, cornerback Quincy Butler, quarterback Matt Baker, defensive end Stephen Bowen, wide receiver Damarius Bilbo, linebacker Carl-Johan Bjork and tight end Andy Thorn.
In addition to Tarullo and Randall, the Cowboys also worked out tight end Matt Kranchick, kicker Kurt Smith, guard Isaac Snell and wide receiver Jerheme Urban.

Why dont the bulls trade for aldridge?
its been known that aldridge wants to come to chicago but he needs to be traded. the blazers want deng noah and the bobcats 2016 pick. but i dont see why the bulls dont trade boozer and taj and next year 2nd round pick. it would help the bulls becuz they already have a good pf coming (nikola mirotic). him aldridge would be killer they could also sign their second round pick or try to aqquire property of austin mario and try to get him to play (unlikely). if the blazers dont agree they can throw in teague or something. its a win win situation the blazers get offensive and defensive powerforwards. the bulls get a killer line up also saving enough to get andre iguodala and andre blatche and a shot at the ring

when did the Liggett drug co. reprint ,the unanimous deliaration of the thirteen united states of america?
i have this old parchment print of this. it has raised letters printed from a copper plate. the liggett drug co is printed at the botton.the parchment is old and crumbly.thank for your help TONY M.
Answer: I cannot give you a definitive answer. I can give you some direction, however.
Liggett Drug Co., I believe, was also known as United Drug Co. at one time. It was affiliated with Rexall Drug Stores.
You will first need to find where the archival records of the Liggett Drug Co. are held, assuming they still exist. Once the archives are located, an archivist might be able to check if a copy of a Liggett Drug Co. reprint of the Declaration of Independence (I assume that is what you mean in your question) was published and distributed.
The Northeastern University Libraries, Archives and Special Collections Department, Boston, Massachusetts holds the archives of the United Drug Co. I recommend you start there and talk (by phone) with an archivist. Here is the contact info:
Northeastern University Libraries
Archives and Special Collections
92 Snell Library
360 Huntington Ave.
Boston, MA 02115
(617) 373-2351
archives@neu.edu
I recommend telephoning over sending an email, so you may ask questions, the archivist can seek clarification from you, etc. Given the interesting spelling in your question, an email from you may not be terribly clear, requiring questions from an archivist to you. Talking by phone makes that kind of questioning easier.
Rexall is part of the Katz Group of companies and is based in Edmondton, Alberta, Canada. They may hold some Liggett Drug Co. archives, if the material you seek is not part of the collection held by the Northeastern Univ. Archives and if an archivist cannot direct you to another repository.
This is the contact info for the Katz Group:

Suite 1702 Bell Tower
10104-103rd Avenue
Edmonton, AB T5J 0H8
Canada

info@katzgroup.ca
I'm not at my library and don't have my other archival holdings resources available, so this it the best I can do for you.
If you have not already done so, you may go to or telephone your local public library, talk with a reference librarian and ask if he/she can determine where Liggett Drug Co. archives are housed, so you may contact the correct archival repository.

NBA Draft 2013: Bulls select Tony Snell with No. 20 pick - Blog a Bull
The Bulls have selected Tony Snell from New Mexico with their 2013 draft pick.
Chicago Bulls Draft......?
Who do you think the Bulls should go for? Should they trade up?
They should either go for a backup center or a 2 with a good offensive game/a lot of upside to come off the bench for Jimmy or possibly if Deng gets traded/doesnt come back after next season. Obviously, if the latter happened Butler would move over to the 3.
In my opinion, these are some possibilities, but some of these players wont fall to 20.
Center: Jeff Withey, Gorgui Dieng, or Steven Adams
Shooting Guard: Allen Crabbe, Tim Hardaway, Jr, Glen Rice, Jr, or Tony Snell
Answer: They should just invest and trade up. With rose,.deng, Noah and a high draft pick the bulls would become the best possible thing to facing Miami.

Name as many active african american major league baseball players as you can.?
Not hispanic or half black.
Answer: I wouldn't trust that Wikipedia list. Matt Kemp, Grady Sizemore, Derek Jeter, Shawn Chacone, Jerry Harriston Jr., Ian Snell, James Lonely, and many others are half-black, and they don't denote the active players. Besides, it's wikipedia.

Do you think Cavs can make the playoffs after this trade?
Cavs trade #1 and #31 and #33 pick and Varejao
Kings trade #8 and Demarcus Cousins
Cavs Roster
PG Kyrie Irving
SG Dion Waiters
SF Alonzo Gee
PF Tristan Thompson
C Demarcus Cousins
Bench
PG CJ Mcollum
SG CJ Miles
SF Tony Snell
PF Mareese Speights
C Tyler Zeller
Do you think the could make the playoffs?
The only problem would be small forward or maybe Josh Smith could sign and play sf, that would be a future dynasty
Answer: With this roster, I think that there would be a much higher chance then the year before. With all of their starting lineup 26 or under, they are all improving, especially Waiters and Cousins. If both teams can make the salaries work, and they do complete this transaction, the Cavaliers will also clear cap space from Varejao's contract, as Cousins is still on his rookie deal at about 4 million per year. If the Cavs are smart and don't resign guys like Luke Walton, Daniel Gibson, Wayne Ellington, and Omri Caspi, they will have enough cap room to offer a large contract to a good small forward, somebody like Josh Smith. They will also have enough money to use on signing good role players that could mesh around Irving, Smith, and Cousins. With that roster, it's almost a guaranteed spot in the playoffs, however I don't see the Kings giving up their best player, especially not for Nerlens Noel.

METS 8, PIRATES 4; Mets Maine Uses His Bat In Addition To His Arm
John Maine wore a poker face as he slowly rounded the bases during the fourth inning of last nights game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hours later, as he reminisced about his first career home run, he could not stop smiling. I got lucky, Maine said. Theres no way around it.
