Answer: A few people asked questions about that in this section right after it happened. I guess people stopped talking about it because a few days went by. I always considered Ray Allen and Doc Rivers classy, so that didn't surprise me, but I was surprised by Delonte West and the fact that he and Lebron even had a moment where they hugged and exchanged pleasantries.

As a Lakers fan, I can admit that this is potentially a very good move for our little brothers. The Clippers and Chris Paul arent on good terms right now, thanks to Donald Sterlings comments about Griffin and Paul. Their hope is that, by bringing in Rivers, they could get Paul back to LA. Trading DeAndre Jordan is also a smart idea because it opens up room for Dwight Howard, who went on to record to say that he wants to play with Chris Paul.

If the Clippers can make this deal happen, theyll be in very good shape for years to come.
Loyal Pistons fan - I dont see whats so audacious about trading a 37-year-old over-the-hill player and a coach who doesnt even want to be there. Youre acting like the Celtics are trading them for peanuts. DeAndre Jordan, 24, is pretty good relative to other centers around the league, and the Clippers will also include two 1st-round picks. If you actually read the article, you would have known that. This is very even trade, imo. The Clippers main goal is to retain Chris Paul and bring in Dwight Howard. Doc Rivers can talk both of them into signing with the Clips.

Answer: It'll improve them as a team, both on defense and on offense. And it will make them a true championship contender, as a matter of fact. The Clippers are in win-now position because if you look at the West, some teams from the West COULD be on their way out of championship contentions by next year, like the Grizzlies and Spurs.

As we saw in their postseason series against the Grizzlies, the Clippers relied too much on Paul handling the ball, and making plays for his teammates. When Paul was NOT on the floor, the Clippers struggled. DeAndre Jordan, even got some negative compliments from former Grizzlies coach, Lionel Hollins, saying he was NOT impressed with Jordan as a player, especially on the offensive end.

But now, with Garnett, their potential center (I assume that's where they will play him), it gives them a guy who is a tremendous post player as well as a guy who is great on the defensive end that brings great energy every night. Marc Gasol just dominated Jordan in the series but he'll have a much tougher time with Garnett. And I believe Blake Griffin will listen to Garnett, and that will make him a better defender. Pierce SHOULD also help them out on offense too and on defense like Garnett. Now, they have three guys who they CAN go to on offense and it will no doubt take the pressure off of Paul to do everything on offense. Paul CAN roam freely on offense now because Garnett and Pierce are both tremendous passers. Plus with a great coach in Doc Rivers, they COULD make the NBA Finals next year.

If they CAN get a deal done, the Clippers are "true" championship contenders. Their team will be very balanced all-around. Great starting lineup, great bench, and a great coach equals a "true" championship contender.

But like you said, they COULD very well trade Griffin to the Lakers but I heard the Lakers do NOT want to do a sign-and-trade currently so I am currently just assuming Griffin is on the team and will play for the Clippers next year.

I highly respect Doc Rivers and his coaching style. Last night he said that his Celtics original starting five (Perkins, Garnett, Pierce, Allen, Rondo) never got to defend their title since Garnett was hurt last year and Perkins was out in Game 7. I think that was a pretty whack and cheap comment. You got beat by the better team. The Lakers. Straight and simple. You were up 3-2 and had a chance to defend your title.

Answer: Well, with his logic. that means the title in 2008 doesn't count either since the Lakers didn't have Bynum. So see, both sides can play this game all day. Bottom line is, lakers won. No excuses.

Answer: It will hinge on any possible "age limit" rules that may be put in place and the direction USA Basketball wants to take with the program, even if the roster rules do not change. But there will be a major overhaul of the roster and it may be time to have a "full-time" coaching staff.
