Who is the most overrated player in the NBA draft?

I think that Josh McRoberts is the most overrated player in the NBA Draft. He is slow, unpolished offensively, and overagressive defensively. Not only that but he is very inconsistent. He will be the biggest bust of the first round along with Julian Wright.

Answer: I agree with you Josh McRoberts is overrated. He was only a sophomore but he wasn't that great. Just wait in 5 years and no one will remember him. Besides he's from Duke. All Duke players that make it to the NBA kind of fade away.

How long does it take for a high school player to be considered for an NBA draft?

Ive heard that a high school player has to have speant at least one year at college before he is eligible for an NBA draft. Is that true? If it is, could you please tell me where in the rules it says that?

Answer: Thats technically not true. While you can't go straight from high school to NBA anymore, the rules say nothing about college. All it says is that you have to be at least 19 years old and be 1 year removed from high school.

Most people will just go to college, but like last year Brandon Jennings didn't want to go to college, so he signed a 1 year contract with a team in Italy so he could get paid and will enter the draft this year. He's still projected as a lottery pick, but I can't really see how seeing as he's playing against lesser competition in Europe and he's averaging 6.5ppg 2 assits and 2 boards as a point guard, and 60% free throws and 15% 3s. Someone like him would have been better off in college I think.

One other option is to go to the D-League. Granted, NBA D-League is kinda like a minor league, but they allow entry at 18.

Answer: i would go small forward first round, to compete for the starting job against jamario moon. then probably point guard in the second round to back up mario chalmers.

edit: i didnt read your details the first time. but now that i have, i dont think they will go center because all of the quality centers will be gone by the time they pick (which should be in the low 20's). also, they already have a lot of good power forwards/centers. as i said above, i think there biggest need is small forward, then a backup point guard.

Can a basketball player that declares for the NBA Draft and goes undrafted return to college?

If a college basketball player declares for the NBA Draft and does not get drafted by a team, hes allowed to return to his college right? Im not talking about being eligible to play ball still, Im just talking about attending the college he previously went to.

Answer: Yeah he can return to take classes and continue their education without a problem, they just can't play ball because there is a deadline to remove yourself from the draft and since they would of went through the draft that means they wouldnt of removed themselfs in time.

Answer: Not technically. There are a quite a few players in the NBA who did not even go to college. The NBA has tryouts sometimes you just have to know where they are. If you plan on trying out, good luck!

What is the difference between the NBA draft lottery and the NBA draft?

The NBA draft lottery will be held on Wednesday, 5/30/12. The NBA draft will be held on 6/28/12.

Answer: The lottery is where the drafting order is determined. Only those teams that didn't make the play-offs are the only ones allowed to participate to give a fair chance for number 1 overall. Of course the worst team gets the best chance and more lottery balls which means the Bobcats have the highest percentage of getting the top overall pick for having the worst record in the league. Drafting is the actual picking of players for all teams. The Bulls being the best team in the regular season picks last.

What happens if someone is not taken from the NBA draft?

For example, if someone is a sophomore and declares for the NBA draft, and is not taken by any team, what are his options from there? Is he aloud to return to school or what?

Answer: Since they usually hire an agent when they declare for the draft, they aren't allowed to go back to the college ranks. Most of the time, they either go to Europe or the D Leauge and work on their game. If they are really unlucky, they start digging ditches with DWP.

Edit: I just read that Larry Bird was drafted in 1978 but decided to go back to school instead for his senior year. It depends on whether you hire an agent. Agents make you a professional. Once you're a pro, you can't go back. That was the problem with Michael Williams of USC in football a few years back. Thinking Clarett was going to win his case against the NFL, Williams decided to join the bandwagon, only to find out he was wrong and had to sit out 2 years before being drafted to the NFL. He is a shadow of what he was his rookie year at USC.

Answer: It's June 23.

Last month was the draft lottery which is where the draft order is determined. The crappy teams had more lottery balls than the good teams so they had a better chance to get a good player. So the draft latter this month will go off of the results of the draft lottery. The cavilers were so bad they got 1st and 4th pick this year. Go Bulls!
